Biobank

Biobank

The Center will store primary specimens of muscle, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), and other tissues after barcoding. The IRB protocol will be written to allow for storage of cells, tissues, and genetic material. Barcoding and storage of specimens internally will begin shortly. Specimens will be archived in liquid nitrogen on-site or through collaboration with an on-campus biobanking provider.

Data

The Center will store data in a central, on-site server that allows for tracking of assays and documentation in a HIPAA-secure fashion. For now, we will adopt use of LabKey. We will buy a computer server to run LabKey, and will budget maintenance costs yearly for consultants and services (e.g., data archival).
